Bishop to leave State Boards of Accountancy

The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy has launched a search for its next leader following the announcement that current President and CEO Ken L. Bishop will retire from his role, effective July 31, 2024.

“NASBA has had great success in fulfilling its mission over the past 12 years with Ken Bishop leading the organization as president and CEO. His successor must also be a dynamic, forward-thinking, visionary leader who will build upon that legacy and lead NASBA into the future by maintaining the organization’s relevance among state boards of accountancy while preserving their regulatory role of protecting the public,” said SAC Chair A. Carlos Barrera.

Bishop joined the organization in 2007 and has led it since 2012, having previously been executive vice president and COO.

Myers tapped to lead cosmetics group

The Personal Care Products Council announced Thomas F. Myers, currently the group’s executive vice president for legal and regulatory affairs and general counsel, will succeed CEO Lezlee Westine in January. Westine announced in June that she would be moving on from the organization at year-end. 

“Tom’s profound understanding of our industry and exceptional understanding of the legal, regulatory and political landscape uniquely position him to lead PCPC. His vision aligns perfectly with our industry’s innovative spirit, dedication to quality and commitment to safety,” said PCPC Board Chair Barbara Menarguez, general manager of fragrance and beauty at CHANEL.

Myers joined PCPC in 2010 as associate general counsel, a role he maintained for five years before being promoted to his current position in 2015. Previously, he spent five years at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as regulatory counsel for environment and energy.

He has a bachelor’s degree in communication from Marquette University and a law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.

He was most recently nonprofit and association industry leader at Hartman Executive Advisors. Earlier in his career, he spent eight years at the Telecommunications Industry Association, where he was vice president of membership, marketing and business development.

Mortgage Bankers Association—Rachel Kelley has been promoted from associate vice president of political affairs to vice president of legislative affairs at MBA. Prior to joining the group in 2021, she spent nine years as president and principal of fundraising and political consultancy Tuesday Solutions, Inc.

Muscular Dystrophy Association—Ruth Ann Dailey has been named chief development officer at MDA. Dailey has spent the past 15 years at the American Cancer Society, having held the roles of regional vice president, vice president of corporate and distinguished partners, and senior vice president of philanthropy.
